Skin Biopsy

Skin biopsy is a common practice in dermatology to investigate conditions when clinical examination is insufficient to make a diagnosis.

Skin biopsy is performed easily, quickly, without any pain in only 5 minutes using a special diagnostic tool, like a pen that is called punch, after a local anesthetic injection.

The area from which we choose to take the tiny specimen should not have been treated with creams (e.g. corticosteroids) for 5-7 days before the biopsy.

Usually the pathology laboratory prepares the biopsy results within 7 days.

Depending on the result and the condition, we follow the treatment plan for our patient.
